Our best places to work remotely in Brooklyn
Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Cobble Hill
All over New York, Stumptown Coffee Roasters are known for their great coffee. But not all of their locations are that laptop friendly! The Cobble Hill address has a very original layout, with a covered patio followed by a first room where you order coffee and wait for it, then another beautiful room where you can actually sit and enjoy the wifi, coffee and pastries.
That’s right, in addition to their full espresso bar, drip coffee and different (cold) brews, Stumptown has kombucha from Big Easy Bucha, and pastries from Ovenly and Supermoon Bakehouse!

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
If you need high ceilings, a hip decor and plants everywhere, you’ll feel at home here! To us, this hotel lobby is one of the most welcoming spaces in Brooklyn. Located in the waterfront community of DUMBO, this design hotel opened at the beginning of 2017 and won the Best Urban Hotel AHEAD Hospitality Award the year after. With its raw yet sophisticated design, zen atmosphere, and the Neighbors Café conveniently located nearby, the lounge area of 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is one of our favorites. Oh and you’ll be on one of New York’s most amazing rooftops in just an elevator ride’s time!

Kos Kaffe Roasting House, Park Slope
Den of Park Slope freelancers, Kos Kaffe is always packed with cool people working on their MacBooks. One of the things we like about this place is the fact that you can actually eat on the spot, and not only pastries, but also salads and sandwiches (the BLT is delicious). The place is also really big, which makes it fairly easy to find a spot. Obviously, where there are cool entrepreneurs, there’s good coffee. Kos Kaffe sources high-quality green beans and roasts them in-house.
Just beware of one thing though: Kos’ success has turned against them, so they had to put restrictions in place. During rush hours (Monday to Friday 12pm-3pm and Saturday/Sunday 10am-4pm), laptop use is only permitted in certain areas of the cafe.
Sey Coffee House
Sey is a micro roaster based in the heart of Brooklyn with an ideal ambiance for remote working. This wide open cafe has been carefully designed and provides a beautiful space, delicious coffee, and open air. Complete with a skylight, this plant-filled oasis is a fantastic getaway if you’re craving a bit more peace and calm while working.
Devoción, Williamsburg
Ever wondered what lies behind Devoción’s very recognizable black facade? This coffee shop is located in the trendy Williamsburg neighborhood, and the decor couldn’t be more Brooklyn! Exposed brick walls and pipes, plants, leather sofas, a skylight… Everything here makes it easy to focus on your work. Oh, and did we mention they have the best brew around? That’s because Devoción actually roasts their own coffee, imported straight from Colombia.
Manhattanville Coffee, Crown Heights
Manhattanville Coffee is one of Crown Heights freelancers’ favorites (and closest to our coliving space in Crown Heights). Whether it’s on the big leather sofa or on the coffee tables, there are power outlets everywhere. The decor is also gorgeous, making it a great spot for work meetings in the neighborhood.
The baristas are always nice, the coffee is very good, and the food is exactly what you need during a hard work day. Also good to mention, everything here is kosher!
If the idea of remote work from home with daily pay sounds appealing to you, then New York is the perfect backdrop for working wherever you want. Explore the city as well as all the cafes that are perfect for digital nomads and remote workers!
