We just launched the Studios, a new residential offering designed for people seeking more privacy, more space and greater independence without giving up the sense of belonging that defines the Cohabs experience.
Founded in Brussels in 2016, Cohabs has grown into an international living company operating across nine cities in Europe and the United States. Today, more than 3000 active members from over 25 nationalities call Cohabs home.
The launch of Studios marks a next chapter in the company's evolution and responds to a simple observation: while people's lives change, the need for human connection doesn't.

Built from member feedback
Over the years, Cohabs observed that many members were looking for more privacy and autonomy, without wanting to give up the sense of belonging and convenience they had experienced within the community.
Former members frequently highlighted community as one of the aspects they missed most after leaving, while demand for studio living continued to grow.
Studios were developed as a natural extension of the Cohabs experience.
"One thing we kept hearing from former members was that what they missed most after leaving wasn't the room or the services, it was the community," says Youri Dauber , Co-Founder and CEO of Cohabs. "At the same time, many told us they wanted more privacy, more space and a quieter experience. Studios were born from that tension. They are our way of offering the best of both worlds."
Rethinking independence in an age of disconnection
The launch comes at a time when loneliness and social isolation are increasingly recognised as major societal challenges.
Research from the Harvard Study of Adult Development, one of the world's longest-running studies on wellbeing, has consistently shown that strong relationships are among the strongest predictors of happiness and long-term health.
Yet modern urban living often presents people with a choice that no longer reflects how they want to live: privacy or belonging.
Cohabs believes people should not have to choose.
The best of both worlds
Ranging from 16 to 25 sqm, Cohabs Studios are fully private, furnished spaces integrated within existing Cohabs homes.
Each Studio offers residents the comfort, privacy and autonomy of their own space, complete with a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom, while remaining fully connected to the wider Cohabs experience.
Unlike standalone studio concepts, Cohabs Studios are always part of a Cohabs home. Residents continue to enjoy access to shared living spaces, spacious communal kitchens, amenities, services and community events, combining the independence of a private home with the richness of community living.
By the end of 2026, Studios will be available across five of Cohabs' nine cities: Brussels, London, Paris, Marseille and Madrid.
As Cohabs continues to grow, Studios are expected to represent around 10 to 15% of the company's future developments. They will complement a portfolio of nearly 3,000 operational beds today, expected to grow to more than 10,000 by 2030, while remaining true to the company's community-first philosophy.
